Living in Widcombe
A village feel a few minutes' walk from the station: the Parade, the canal locks, Prior Park on the doorstep and views across the whole city. Our guide to Widcombe, where our office is.
The village on the doorstep of the city
Widcombe sits south of the river, across the footbridge from Bath Spa station. At its heart is Widcombe Parade, with independent shops, cafés and pubs, and the Kennet and Avon Canal climbing up through the Widcombe locks to meet the river. Behind it the streets rise steeply up towards Prior Park and Lyncombe, with some of the best views in Bath.
It has a strong community: the Widcombe Association runs talks and events through the year and the Widcombe Social Club is the place to meet. We are part of it too: our office is at 2 Sussex Place, just off the Parade.
